The Ron's House

Changing of the tides.
All efforts that are created and manifest change a tide in subconscious trends. Now this is not explicitly written, more implied by me or wishful fortune. Businesses like Localcents and other social networking startups are now creating the ability to grasp market share. This article in BuisnessWeek shows these trends, it doesn’t show directly that local search is taking over the market but it show’s me that our market is not stable and there is plenty of space to grasp the media and ride the hyperbole

AUG. 21 11:03 A.M. ET Shares of Google Inc. , the leading U.S. search engine, dipped slightly Monday as monthly search market share data showed the company lost a percentage point while competitors posted modest gains. All lost ground, however, amid broader losses on the technology-heavy Nasdaq Google’s stock fell $5.58 to $377.78 in morning trading on the Nasdaq . Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite dropped 15.59 percentage points to 2,148.36. The Reston, Va.-based comScore reported Sunday that Google's share of U.S. search queries dipped to 43.7 percent from 44.7 percent a month ago. Its closest competitor, Yahoo Inc. , inched up to 28.8 percent from 28.5 percent. Yahoo continues work on a major upgrade of its search and advertising platform. The company announced in July that the technology, expected to boost search-advertising revenue and narrow the gap with Google, would be delayed until late this year or early next. Some great news for Localcents. We now have a small piece in Bellingham Business Journal ,. This is great and I can expect our hits to rise a little. We don’t have the product yet to hold our potential customers but awareness is the key. As written in the article, “The classifieds and coupons are the first of many free services that the web site plans to offer.” So the community is aware, there is more to come.

And this article: Digg is emblematic of the ethos of Web 2.0, new consumer and media sites revolving around social networking and do-it-yourself services. Others include YouTube, which serves up some 100 million requested videos a day, rivaling the audience of NBC. Then there's Facebook, where the college crowd practically lives. The average gamer on Xfire spends an astounding 91 hours a month on the site -- it's like a part-time job. As a result, superhigh valuations are again coming out of the Valley. In a world in which Facebook turns down $600 million deals, the $580 million that Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. (NWS ) shelled out for MySpace.com in July, 2005, is widely considered to be a steal. These are all trends the give Localcents easier entrance into social media markets. Once more of the community is aware of these products more people will be searching for great tools to help them in there daily lives.

It's not a baby, it's a monster
LocalcentsIs growing like an uncontrollable amoeba. Setting the bar is our new mission. The news of Google's, partnership with valpak is encouraging. The more end users become familiar with local search and advertising the less barriers to adoption there will be by those users and advertisers, making it easier forLocalcents, to acquire users.

It is not about action it is about reaction and anticipating next steps. I find myself in a reactionary position many times my defence is robust. Using our skills of defence to anticipate the offence is the most difficult task in a fast moving market. We spend much time acquiring information to make educated Offensive moves. Raising the bar, bringing in more and more value added services. What is it that I can do for you? Where is your pain?

Our mission and our strategy, we are consistent with our mission we know where we are and where we see ourselves. Our mission does not change. It is our ultimate focus our drive. And our strategy, the execution of that mission, our daily duty to ourselves our employees and our users. Just recently with our introduction to PRWeb and many other interactions we are solidifying and calibrating our strategy. Meeting with Business E Viewwes very helpful in our strategy, thanks guys. We can clearly see ourselves amongst a competitive matrix, our nitch is emerging and we are taking full advantage of this nitch.

Man the people.
Last night was a great opportunity. I enjoyed conversation with many business people. The event was sponsored by Business E view karaoke and all. All in all it was great, plenty of good food provided by Emerald Catering, and wonderful folks to talk to, I even made some new friends.

I invited Tyler Ryan, he was thankful and enjoyed the company as well. I would like to sponsor one of these events. It is 200 to sponsor and 50 bucks annually to be a member. This event was fun and focused.
